Travel Information

Ghent is centrally located in Belgium, easily accessible by air, by train and by car.

By air

Belgium's main airport (Brussels Airport) is only 1 hour away from Ghent and has flights from over 70 international destinations, operated by more than 140 international and regional airline companies. The other Belgian airports, Ostend, Antwerp and Charleroi (Brussels South), serve several European destinations and have easy and direct connections to Ghent.

The easiest (and cheapest) way to travel from Brussels Airport to Ghent is the train. Each hour there is one direct train to Ghent (at h52, direction: De Panne, travel time: 50 minutes). Each fifteen minutes a train can take you from the airport to the international train station of Brussels (Brussel Zuid - Bruxelles Midi), from which you can easily travel to the main station of Ghent (Gent-Sint-Pieters), as mentioned below. Note that the rail union announced a strike, starting from 30/05 22:00 until 31/05 22:00.

From the Gent-Sint-Pieters station you can take tram number 1, direction 'Evergem Brielken'. From the stop 'Korenmarkt', its a 300 meter walk to the conference venue.

By train

Thanks to its central location in Flanders, and at just half an hour away from Brussels South Station (Brussel Zuid - Bruxelles Midi), Ghent is very easily accessible by train from all Belgian and European Cities. The high-speed trains, Eurostar and Thalys take you to Ghent in only 2 hours from Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Cologne.

The easiest (and cheapest) way to travel from the international train station of Brussels (Brussels South Station - Brussel Zuid - Bruxelles Midi) to Ghent is by train.
